National Sales Manager

The Urban Infant Inc. is celebrating its 10th year in business as an energetic growing company with national sales accounts that have included Barneys, The Land of Nod, Uncommon Goods, various museum shops and boutique shop scattered through the US. Owned by a brother-sister team, the focus of the company is high-end design in creating and manufacturing products that are urban, sustainable, multi-cultural, and kind of witty. The company has a few key products that drive sales and are looking to expand new collections. We expect to increase revenues within existing accounts and to aggressively grow our account base by concentrating sales efforts and product mix to meet the needs of our consumers.

Job Listing
We are looking for a sales manager to help during this growth phase to service existing accounts and help expand our customer base. The position would also entail managing the team of regional sales reps in different US territories – Southern, Eastern, Midwest, and West Coast. This will be achieved through strategic planning, effective sales management, and using creative sales skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain contact with key accounts, introducing them to new products on a semi-annual basis
Develop and present a pipeline report, each work shift generating calls and emails to meet those goals
Proactively recommend new customers - above the list of (supplied) target accounts
Define and implement national tradeshow plan (2x year - ABC Kids Expo Sept/ Playtime NY Feb)
Maintain a solid understanding of industry trend and market competition
Be open to recommending products for your account base and critiquing competitive products
Initiate, develop, and coordinate sales action plans to penetrate new markets

Specific (Daily) Job Duties:
• Collaborate with owners to determine strategic sales accounts
• Maintain and expand company’s database of of prospects
• Update and maintain Big Commerce (back office) wholesale account files
• Ensure a system of follow-up with action dates
• Vendor Set-up paperwork for new national chain accounts
• Assist in creating RFP responses to potential clients
• Emphasize product features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, enter sales orders
• Appropriately communicate brand identity and corporate position

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field
Minimum of 3 years experience selling consumer products
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft, Prezi – Mac or PC Platform

Pay Structure and Position Details
The job is currently structured as salary-based.
Depending on the applicant, could be negotiated as a salary plus commission position.

Corp Office is located in Chicago, Illinois
Warehouse and distribution located in Cleveland Ohio
Position will require both in-office time as remote work
Training provided in corporate culture, product line and commerce software.

Graphic Designer - Part Time

The Urban Infant Inc. is seeking a part-time production assistant in the Chicago design studio.

Primary Responsibilities:
Design and production of consumer tags and packaging
Design of infographics - charts, logo marks
File organization, data management, and consistent naming structures
Photo research

Bachelor’s degree in Design or Marketing
Minimum of 1 year graphic design experience 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Additional beneficial values and background:
Copywriting and/or blogging skills
Photography skills
Web design experience
Familiar (or just like) the kids, toddlers, baby markets
Strong attention to follow-through
Sense of humor
